Cabinetry re-facing is an affordable alternative to replacing your existing cabinets. Re-facing is much faster and cleaner than traditional remodeling, and much less expensive. Re-dooring – a process of removing the old cabinet doors and drawer faces, hardware and hinges and replacing them with new door and drawer faces, hardware and hinges. With re-dooring we only replace the doors and do not do anything to the cabinet faces. We can match door colors to existing styles or refinish the cabinet face styles and rails.
Re-facing – a process of using the existing cabinet structural boxes and removing the old cabinet doors and drawer faces, hardware and hinges and replacing them with new door and drawer faces, hardware and hinges. For the cabinet face rails, styles and sides of cabinets we apply a ¼ inch skin over the existing surface prior to installing new door and drawer faces.
Re-facing means going over the cabinet rails and stiles with 1/4 ” solid hardwood in the wood species of your choice. Maybe you want to replace oak with a beautiful cherry wood in a cinnamon stain or maybe you want a little more of a contemporary look and like the look of maple. Or, maybe a sleek white painted cabinet is more appropriate. The cabinet doors and drawer fronts are replaced. Modifications can be made for new appliances and all the bells and whistles that are standard fare built in kitchens today can be added even when we reface. We are also able to put new, custom cabinetry in such as a new pantry or island and you can’t tell the difference between what has been put in new and what has been refaced. The result is an updated look in a kitchen that is more efficient with a finish that is warrantied for the lifetime of your home.
Kitchens Redefined offers both raw and prefinished cabinetry re-facing. We can create custom door faces from raw, unfinished cabinet doors for raw cabinet re-facing. With a raw reface, we can change the wood species of the door and drawer faces, completing the look with a painted or stained finish. If your cabinetry already has a finish, we can apply a veneer to the door and drawer faces for refinished cabinet re-facing. After the cabinetry re-facing is complete and the new veneer is applied, we will finish the cabinetry with one of our custom cabinetry finishes.
